Otakon 2001

Highlights for the year!:

1. Matt and I made a bet, simply because he kept insisting that I always get free stuff, and that if I dressed right, I'd get tons more. I did not believe him, and set out to prove myself right. I figured, that kind of bet, I couldn't possibly lose. If I won, and I was right. well, I was right! (and he'd have to admit it!) and if I lost and I got tons of free stuff, well, how was that really a loss? So I wore two specific outfits for the con (and acquired a third) so here we go:

The red one is what I wore on Friday. And the other is what I wore on Saturday.
I came with the intention of wearing both. The red cause I liked it. The other, cause Matt INSISTED that since I looked like a 12 year old, I would get tons of free stuff dressed as a school girl. In my opinion, I think it looked horrible. And guess what? I WON THE BET!
I got nothing for free in the Dealers room, as well as no deals or discounts.
I met Bear for the first time and he DID give me $1.25, but he did it only after hearing about the bet....
And thats it!
2. I did 8 pictures for the convention and put them up in the artshow...These pictures, as well as an interview with me, will shortly be up on a site that is helped along By Rey Torres. When I get it, I'll put the link RIGHT here. The really good news? I sold 2 of my pieces and I hope they have found happy homes.
3. The Mystery Anime Theater this year was Samurai Showdown
4. I went to my VERY first Opening Ceremoniess (run by Ben Lokouta! YAY BEN!) and the guy that does the voice for Tamahome (in Japanese) sure can sing! (I hope I remembered the right character for the right guy...sigh...)

I didn't have a clue. But roomie Matt (Woodchuck) was really excited to see her, muttered something about a video game (Nei of Phantasy Star 2) and took my camera!

Things to buy from the dealers room! ME in the pretty tea dress I bought at the con. It's a shiny black with silver dragons and I don't think a picture shot by somebody laying in a bed does the dress (or me!) justice...

Ben, in an outfit bought STRAIGHT from the dealers room. He wanted something fancier but I think this one looks better on him.
